The importance of health has been highlighted in various manuscripts dating from prehistoric times, which still holds great pertinence even today. To spread awareness about human health, the World Health Organization celebrates ‘World Health Day’ every year to highlight any one of the major health concern prevailing today and ways to combat against the subject disease.
Who’s WHO
Founded on 7th of April, 1948, the World Health Organization is the global assembly of world health leaders, who came together to highlight and address global health problems. World health day is celebrated on the founding day of WHO and aims to spread awareness and improvements in the global healthcare sector. WHO council holds an Annual meet every year in Geneva, Switzerland to discuss upon the current state of global health index and what necessary steps can be taken to promote good health worldwide. Every year the council reasonably decides a particular disease or health issue that needs immediate attention and control at a global level and promotes its control measures to ensure it doesn’t affect the better portion of the world population.
Work Agenda
Although WHO was constructed to serve the human race towards a better health funded future, there are far many high points which clearly define the working and motive of WHO. Firstly, the body is responsible for protecting and promoting healthcare across the globe. The council members are primarily focused on global health affairs and try their best to improve health security by empowering health systems. They put together the best of their knowledge and resource bank to establish and promote health healthcare providers.
Last year’s World Health Day celebrated and endorsed “Universal health coverage: everyone, everywhere.” By following the tradition of commemorating World Health Day, WHO seeks to push public awareness of various medical conditions and lethal diseases. They mainly focus on protection and prevention against various diseases and their complications. They wish to spread the idea of self-care among the global population and build a stronger health community with world’s leading and influential health care providers to make appropriate provisions for improved health status across their native and nearing states.
