Brief Profile

An Experienced Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist, His key areas of expertise include Luminal Gastroenterology with a focus on diseases of the stomach and intestines, like GERD, acid-peptic disorders, ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease, IBS, celiac disease and all gastrointestinal disorders presenting with symptoms of abdominal pain, bloating, gas, constipation or diarrhoea. Having worked in some of the largest hospitals in India and abroad, he also has vast experience in treating liver diseases, like fatty liver, NASH, hepatitis B, hepatitis C, liver cirrhosis, including those requiring liver transplant; pancreas and gallbladder diseases. Dr Paliwal is well-trained for using state-of-the-art technology for performing diagnostic as well as therapeutic procedures including advanced endoscopy, colonoscopy, high-resolution manometry, 24-hour wireless and ambulatory oesophageal pH-impedance studies, breath tests, capsule endoscopy, single balloon enteroscopy, ERCP, biliary, gastric and colonic stenting.

Dr Paliwal has received special training in Japan for performing advanced endoscopic procedures like magnification endoscopy, narrow-band imaging for early cancer detection, endoscopic mucosal resection, and endoscopic submucosal dissection currently done by very few doctors in India.

Dr Maneesh Paliwal was instrumental in establishing Delhi’s first dedicated Luminal Gastroenterology Lab for gastrointestinal pathophysiology and motility testing in 2010, the first of its kind in any private hospitals in Delhi and was also first to start solid-state and 3D high-resolution manometry in India in the private sector. He has one of the largest experiences in India of performing over 3500 cases of oesophagal, anorectal high-resolution manometry, 24- hour oesophagal pH-impedance testing and biofeedback training and has performed more than 800 cases of capsule endoscopy.

Dr Paliwal has several publications to his credit, has organised several multi-speciality national level conferences, delivered several public lectures. He is actively involved in training DNB gastroenterology, family medicine and internal medicine doctors and has been a faculty trainer for other gastroenterologists in medical conferences.
