Dr Faraz Ahmed Farooqui is a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at PSRI Hospital. He has over 5 years of experience in Interventional Cardiology and has successfully performed over 5000 diagnostic and therapeutic cardiac interventions including elective coronary angioplasties, primary angioplasties, complex left main interventions, chronic total occlusions (CTOs), balloon mitral valvotomies (BMV). He has a keen interest in intracoronary imaging, PCI of calcified lesions and left main disease. He is highly skilled in performing rotational atherectomy, orbital atherectomy and intravascular lithotripsy (IVL). In addition, Dr Faraz also specializes in Preventive Cardiology. He is also proficient in implanting permanent pacemakers, AICDs, biventricular pacemakers (CRT-P/ CRT-D), and atrial septal defect (ASD) device closure procedures.
Dr Faraz Ahmed Farooqui completed his MBBS from Osmania Medical College, Hyderabad and subsequently finished his MD (Medicine) & DM (Cardiology) training from the prestigious AIIMS, New Delhi. He has previously worked as a Consultant Cardiologist at ARS Holy Heart Advanced Cardiac Care & Research Centre, Rohtak. Subsequently he worked as an Assistant Professor in Cardiology at Vardhman Mahavir Medical College & Safdarjung Hospital at New Delhi. He went on to train in Interventional Cardiology with a focus on complex coronary angioplasty at the National Heart Centre Singapore where he gained extensive experience in the field of Interventional Cardiology. He has published several papers in prestigious national and international journals. He has also presented his cases at important meetings including EuroPCR, SingLive and India Valves.
