Dr. Rajiv Baijal is working as Senior Consultant Gastroenterologist, Pushpawati Singhania Hospital & Research Institute.
He specialises in diseases of the liver, gall bladder, biliary tract, pancreas, gastrointestinal tract and functional bowel diseases.
He performs all kinds of diagnostic and therapeutic GI endoscopic procedures like Gastroscopy, Colonoscopy, ERCP- CBD stone extraction, CBD stenting for palliation of pancreaticobiliary malignancy, pancreatic duct stone removal as well as stenting, stricture dilation, pseudo-cyst drainage, GI Motility studies-Esophageal and anorectal High Resolution Manometry, 24 hour ambulatory pH-metry, Endoscopic Ultrasonography and Single Balloon Enteroscopy, Endoscopic Ultrasonography (EUS), High resolution manometry, DNB Gastroenterology teaching
Writing and presenting scientific papers.
He has worked as the Head of Department of Gastroenterology, DNB guide and appraiser for post-doctoral trainees in DNB (Gastroenterology) at Jagjivanram Hospital, Mumbai since 2008, which is recognized by the National Board of Examinations, New Delhi for the superspeciality degree of DNB (Gastroenterology) since 1994. Six DNB candidates have received training in DNB Gastroenterology under his guidance also did Fellowship in Endoscopic Ultrasonography (EUS) at Institut Paoli-Calmettes, France, High Resolution Esophageal and Anorectal Manometry (HRM) and 24-hour pH-metry at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, Australia, Single balloon enteroscopy at the Asian Institute of Gastroenterology, Hyderabad
