Dr Amitabh Yaduvanshi

Dr. Amitabh Yaduvanshi is a Senior Consultant Interventional Cardiologist and Head of Invasive Cardiology and Cardiac Electrophysiology at PSRI Heart Institute, New Delhi. He brings with him more than 2 decades of experience in clinical and interventional cardiology.

Dr. Yaduvanshi has performed more than 5000 coronary interventions which include primary angioplasty, complex multivessel angioplasty, Left Main angioplasty, Bifurcation and CTO interventions. He is equally proficient in electrophysiology interventions including RF ablation of SVT, high density 3D mapping, cool tip contact force ablation of VT and AF. Dr Amitabh Yaduvanshi is also credited to have pioneered many cutting-edge technologies not only in India but the Asia Pacific, these include Rotational Angiography using Dyna CT and ElectroView EP Mapping system.

Dr Yaduvanshi excels in device implantation with more than 1000 device implantations to his credit including AICDs, CRT-Ds, MRI Pacemakers etc. He has presented difficult implantation cases in various international and national conferences. He is regularly invited as guest speaker in various arrythmia conferences. He is the sole Indian representative to the Allied Professional Subcommittee of the Asia-Pacific Heart Rhythm Society.

Dr. Yaduvanshi’s expertise spans beyond the heart and include peripheral interventions like carotid angioplasty, renal angioplasty, peripheral arterial angioplasty, IVC interventions, pulmonary thrombectomy, DVT thrombectomy etc. He has done many coil embolization for life threatening bleedings and tumour embolization. He was part of a record-breaking team for doing the maximum number of Balloon Mitral Valvuloplasty in a single day.

He was instrumental in starting a phenomenally successful Extra-corporeal Life Support (ECLS/ECMO) program with very gratifying results, comparable to international standards. He has developed a fast sequence canulation technique which allows for rapid initiation of ECMO therapy, especially in cases of cardiac arrest requiring eCPR, where time is of essence.

He was also the first to do Renal Denervation (RDN) in resistant hypertension patients in India using an indigenous low-cost technique, and his manuscript was selected as the Top 10 papers in the CRT2014 conference in Washington DC.

Dr. Amitabh is an avid teacher and has taught under-graduate and post-graduate students during his tenure at Maulana Azad Medical College and G.B. Pant Hospital. He is a guide to DNB Cardiology student and has supervised and guided DNB (Cardiology) dissertations.

Dr Yaduvanshi has numerous publications in National and International Journals including high impact journals like Post Graduate Journal of Medicine, Europace, Journal of Arrhythmia, Journal of American College of Cardiology, Journal of Interventional Cardiac Electrophysiology, Heart Rhythm, Interventional Cardiology etc. His publications are often cited and cross referenced. Dr Yaduvanshi is frequently invited as faculty in various national and international conferences and regularly conduct interventional cardiology workshops.
